This is a kayak camping (primitive) experience. Pack everything you need for the weekend on your kayak (minus dinner for Saturday) at Alley 3 launch site. We will be headed over to little tybee just after lunch.

IS IT INSIDE THIS ONW REFUGE?Located in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, the Okefenokee Swamp Park is a convenient point of entry and a magnificent show-window for the “Land of the Trembling Earth.” Join GKF on a fishing and camping adventure deep in Georgia’s Great Wetland. Fish for bowfin while taking in the sights and sounds of this south georgia bucket list paddle destination.

This is a kayak camping (primitive) experience. Pack everything you need for the weekend on your kayak (minus dinner for Saturday) at the south shore of lake fontana Cable Cove boat launch. We will launch around 12:00 Friday. Late arrivals contact Brian Sanford or Nick Adams for alternatives. Crossing the flat deep waters of lake fontana for 3-4 miles until we reach the old town of Proctor (GSMNP Backcountry Camp 86) Good bass fishing can be done along the route. For the remainder of Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday morning, attendees can choose to head back out on the lake to fish for ( Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Steelhead, Smallmouth Bass, largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Walleye, Muskie, Flathead Catfish, yellow perch, Crappie and others), or HIKE into the GSMNP via Hazel creek trail and wade fish to try your hand at fly fishing for native Brooke trout and rainbow trout. A very limited amount of permits are given out each day for this campsite and you can secure yours at https://smokiespermits.nps.gov

July 19-(20)-21 4th Annual Hooch fish fry and Tournament.
Pull out the rooster tails and the light tackle, we are hitting the chattahoochee river from buford dam to abbots bridge in search of Rainbow trout. Everyone wins with a fish fry lunch afterwards. The 3 heaviest stringer of Rainbow trout takes home the purse and prizes.

It’s HOT! Not only is the weather hot in florida this time of year but the offshore fishing from a kayak is is too. Bring your camper with A/C or book a hotel close to the park, only the bravest will want to tent camp for this one. Saturday and Sunday sunrise beach launches are something to experience that photos and video just can’t replicate. Fishing opportunity includes catching your own live bait, trolling for pelagic species like King Mackerel and Mahi. With so many fish in the sea you never know what you will catch to be honest, and thats part of the fun.

Jekyll Island is located off the coast of the U.S. state of Georgia, in Glynn County. It is one of the Sea Islands and one of the Golden Isles of Georgia barrier islands. The Jekyll Island Campground is located conveniently close to the water, is shaded, and offers both primitive and RV camping areas. Book this trip early if you plan to attend! It fills up fast.
